The Dark Troubadours session brings together four ex-Brisbane artists who performed regularly at the iconic (since closed) Brisbane venue, The Troubadour. Adrian Stoyles, Jacob S. Harris, Madeleine Paige and the most wondering of all four, Chris Pickering will come together for the first time to play the darkest of the dark folk and alt-country ballads from dusk, on into the night.
ADRIAN STOYLES (pictured) is one of the chief singer-songwriters of much celebrated alt-country/folk collective, The Gin Club. Stoyles penned Gin Club favourites such as Gabriel, Already Gone and Rain.
Singer songwriter CHRIS PICKERING is the classic 21st century songwriter. He is not a slave to any dominant trend or fashion yet doesn’t shy away from comparisons to the great songwriters of the 20th century. His songs tell stories of lost love, broken hearts and romance.
JACOB S HARRIS has recently dusted off his guitar to play all his old tunes of love, the sea, wandering and wondering to our delight.
Don’t let the big baby-blues and fiery red hair of MADELEINE PAIGE mislead you, she is a deeply solemn lady when she reflects on love and loss, and her songs reveal this.
Madeleine and Adrian will be joined by local multi-instrumentalist ANDREW WATSON (The Man Who Wasn’t There) on guitar, violin and viola.
Come at 7pm and stay til the end, each musician will play two sets each in solo and collaborative performances.
