The Darebin Music Feast special Discotheque Music Club - hosted by DJ DigiDog - will explore the contentious topic of “Cover versions that are better than the Originals”.

There are many important issues to be discussed, but this one incites particularly passionate debate!

For example, what about Bob Dylan – to some, he may be just an old codger who can’t sing or play guitar, but he sure could write a song – as demonstrated by covers of his songs by Jimi Hendrix, Manfred Mann, The Byrds, XTC, Bryan Ferry and Leon Russell.  It has been claimed that EVERY Dylan cover is better than the original – could this really be true?

Directly from his regular Music Clubs at Pure Pop Discotheque in St Kilda and the White Rabbit Record Hop in Kensington, DJ DigiDog will spin a set of awesome covers to challenge the myth that originals are always the best.  Come along and join in the challenge.
