Ellen Mary Fish grew up in a musical family and has been playing guitar, and writing and singing folk songs since 2001. Her first album of original songs is called ‘The Only Colour’ and was launched in 2014. Ellen’s voice is pure and raw and her style ranges from poignant contemporary Australian folk to light country rock and blues. Her songs explore local Australian themes and create personal inner landscapes. While known for her haunting songs of love and loss, Ellen does write lighter cheery songs too. Ellen performs at various venues around Melbourne including the local Newport Folk and Fiddle Club’s Open Stage evenings and other open mic nights. Ellen is a regular performer at Farouk’s Olive in Thornbury. Ellen is excited to be playing some original songs from her CD ‘The Only Colour’, some new material as well some well selected and traditional Celtic, folk and country covers.
