The 20th Darebin Music Feast will kick off with a curated day of FREE, genre-smashing festivities, art and music at Preston Fresh Hood, a place that brings together food, art and live music to the Preston Market site, in the heart of Darebin.

Curated by Joseph O’Farrell (JOF), and inspired by the abandoned Bingo Hall at the Fresh Hood site, this all-day event includes local commissions, live acts, activities for the little ones and interactive art installations, not to mention the number one BBQ concept act…The Burnt Sausages!

Line1pm – 2pm: Kids Programming
Enjoy an action-packed hour of interactive fun, music and art. Learn to hula hoop with circus dynamo Anna Lumb, experience a unique sound installation created by sound design extraordinaire Steph O’Hara in collaboration with his 8-year-old daughter Matilda, and rock along to The Itchy Scabs – a family-friendly garage punk band with stunts, puppets and a lot of really stupid stuff! If you can do the pogo you can do the itchy scab.

Line3pm – 6pm: Teen Programming
See the future rock stars of tomorrow as we present gigs, sound installations and art works by some of Darebin’s brightest young talent. Featuring local female singer songwriters Dear Matilda and Claudia Marmilic; South Sudanese hip hop crew, TLB; DJ Richie 1250 (PBS FM) and installations by Customer Deluxe and Danny Cisco.

Line6pm – 9pm: Into the Night Programming
Come party with some of Melbourne’s best and fresh local produce! Featuring The Burnt Sausages, Biddlewood, HEARING and Truly Holy, with DJ Tanzer on the decks.
