Catherine Traicos launches her seventh studio album at The Merri Creek Tavern.
To date, Catherine has released six critically lauded albums and toured nationally and internationally, solo and with her band, The Starry Night. The new album, Nobody Could Hear Us, was produced by Catherine and mixed by Nick Huggins at A Pocketful of Stones Studios. With its minimal instrumentation and bare emotional themes, the launch will be an intimate evening. Catherine will be playing as a duo with Sabian Wilde on bass.
Catherine has appeared at Nashville’s Americana Music Festival, played the Live at Heart Festival in Sweden and supported international acts including Beth Orton, the Mountain Goats, Dirty Projectors, Simone Felice and Spiral Stairs. She has graced such diverse stages as Nashville’s iconic Bluebird Cafe, and The Sydney Opera House Concert Hall.
‘…Traicos utilises her vocal gifts to weave gorgeous songs out of simple-yet-purposeful and poignant words.’ — Ash Goldberg, The Music
Gareth Skinner (Bzark, The Holy Sea) will open the evening with a solo cello set. This is not an evening to be missed!
