Learn bespoke Choreography by Lerato Masiyane, Josephine Palermo and Gerard Pigg, set to a medley of ‘I’m Every Woman’ by Chaka Khan, ‘Girls Just Wanna Have Fun’ by Cindy Lauper and ‘Shake it Out’ by Florence and the Machine.

Edwardes Lake Park, Reservoir. We’ll be at the stage area. Enter via the gates at corner Edwardes and Griffiths Streets. Follow the path past the old train carriage towards the playground and BBQ area and you’ll find the stage on your left. Our people will be keeping a look out for you!
This project is a collaborative initiative between the City of Darebin and Outer Urban Projects. Outer Urban Projects is a bold performing arts company creating new forms of contemporary performance, providing training, employment and arts engagement for culturally diverse emerging artists and participants in Melbourne’s outer north.
Lerato Masiyane is a member of dancehall crew, - Burn City Queenz, and mentor for Jungle City Studios’ social change initiative, ‘Culture Queenz’ – working with diverse young women from Melbourne’s west. Lerato facilitates classes for all ages in dancehall, street hip hop and afro-beats, she is passionate about utilising dance as a means of inspiring and empowering young people.

Josephine Palermo has been performing and teaching belly dance for many years across Melbourne and Australia. Palermo is the director of Melbourne Belly Dance School, leading the way in Middle-Eastern dance classes for all age groups and levels.

Dancer and choreographer Gerard Pigg has worked with Asanti Dance Theatre, Outer Urban Projects, BOLLYWOOD SENSATIONS, American artists Kci & Jojo, the Summer & Winter Solstice Melbourne’s Dance Industry Night ‘Immersed’, ‘Underground’, and ‘Sydney Carnival’. Gerard is the Creative Director and performer with his dance company, PROVOKATIV.
