POLYXENI with special guest Sally Taylor (Stray Hens) present a mix of Greek acoustic roots based tunes from recent years and classic songs from the 1930s. This is the fourth Open Studio presentation for 2015 by Polyxeni members Jenny Theologidis and Wayne Simmons. This show covers two genres of acoustic Greek music featuring guitar, violin, accordion, banjo and laouto (Greek lute). Polyxeni will present acoustic contemporary songs (Entechna) from composors such as Nikos Papazoglou, Sokratis Malamas and Pantelis Thalassinos. This will be combined with a selection of tunes that were influenced by the great Greek musical traditions from Asia Minor. Get ready to experience an exotic blend of eastern modes and infectious dance rhythms and the amazing voice of Jenny Theologidis.
