A night showcasing three distinctive singer-songwriters whose songs frequently plumb the depths to retrieve the pearls hidden within.
Pete Lyrebird specialises in atmosphere drenched song-cycles that can broadly be described as ‘alt’ folk wrapped up in its own surreal universe. His lyrical, metaphor-rich songs navigate terrain that explores the more curious, fragile and desperate edges of life. As he alternates between two old guitars, these are delivered with a bold commitment to exploration and a distinctive bass-baritone.
Dirtbird is the ethereal, mysterious musical project of singer-songwriter David M. Lewis. Close harmonies, atmospheric double bass and drums, sparsely pulsing acoustic guitar, a soaring cello and slow, sad songs about mystical journeys and the end of the world are some of the elements which weave in and out of the organic quietness which has become the Dirtbird sound.
After a parenting-instigated break from music, Waywardbreed returns to the stage to bring their stark, spacious, dark folk-inspired songs. Waywardbreed play songs from their three albums ‘Rising Vicious’, ‘Gathering for the Feast’ and 2016’s full band LP ‘Brother Songs’. Violin, voice and guitar weave an aural spell that will carry you willingly into a night of vivid dreams, both dark and light.
