Local Darebin legend Jen Cloher will kick off the Sonic aGender program with a keynote address exploring key themes of gender, songwriting, wall breaking and music making. As a co-founder of Milk! Records, a mentor to hundreds of artists through her I Manage My Music Program, Double J’s Australian Artist of the Year and recent AIR 2018 Best Independent Artist recipient, Jen is an internationally-acclaimed artist and outspoken advocate for artist rights and DIY music scenes.

Participants will then have a unique opportunity to engage in open round table chats with some of Melbourne’s most illustrious music makers including Jenny McKechnie (Cable Ties), Romy Vager (RVG), Erica Dunn (Mod Con, TFS, Harmony), Barb Waters, Steph Crase (Summer Flake), Alice Skye, Linda Johnston (Little Ugly Girls, The Dacios) and Caroline Kennedy. Followed by networking and light refreshments.
