Some fantastical characters have taken up residence at Keon Park Children’s Hub.

Sounds Exquisite is an interactive, sound-based artwork created by Darebin primary school students in collaboration with local arts organisation, Playable Streets.

Using ‘exquisite corpse’ as a starting point – a game played by surrealists in the 1920s – students created new characters and narratives from the obscure depths of their imaginations, which have now been brought to life for you to play with. Grab a head, a body and a tail and put them all together on the listening pod to hear them speak! There are hundreds of story combinations to discover.

You can drop in at any time Monday to Friday to interact with the artwork, or come down on Sunday for the finale event hosted by some of the creators from Playable Streets.

Suitable for children aged 4 – 12.

Using the latest technologies available, Playable Streets connects people with their surroundings through the action of touch as strangers become musical collaborators. Working with composers, engineers and visual artists, Playable Streets have created a series of works that explore public collaboration and collective musical play.
