The Darebin Music Feast Songwriters’ Award is an annual songwriting competition that seeks to recognise, showcase and promote the talents of local songwriters. Around 100 entries are received each year with finalists performing before a panel of distinguished local musicians Sal Kimber, Charles Jenkins and Monica Weightman as part of the Darebin Music Feast. There is an amazing prize package to be won including $2000 cash and studio time. Past winners include Jordie Lane, Ben Mason, Brooke Russell, Domini Forster and Charm of Finches.
Grand Final Concert will be held on Thursday 25 October, 7.30pm at Northcote Town Hall.
Songwriters’ who live, work or study in the City of Darebin are welcome to enter. The Award is open to songwriters of all ages. Songwriters’ are welcome to enter songs in languages other than English. Local Indigenous songwriters are particularly encouraged to enter.
