Go Banana’s Buskers & Community Stage

On-line Blackboard (put your name down) - Open to local, interstate and international travelling artists

Our exciting new Street Feast program strand was launched in 2013. This included the creation of a fun open-access, and co-creative pop-up green space venue called Banana Island that will rotate around the municipality over the coming years.

Last year’s Banana Island featured the S.S. SingSong, a karaoke caravan cruise ship! Feasters packed a picnic and enjoy sundown on the banana loungers or grab dinner from the array of Food Trucks cooking up delicious island treats. Banana Island will be located in two different green spaces within Darebin over each of the two weekends of the 2014 festival period and we’ll be cooking up some fun ways for artists to get involved.

FOLLOW us on Facebook and Twitter to be alerted when Banana Island's 'Go Banana's Stage' Black Board is ready to chalk your name onto!

Local Venue Shows - Register Your Show

venues

Registration Process - Open to All, direct to Venues

Music events falling between Wednesday 8 and Sunday 19 October 2021 and within the City of Darebin can be registered for inclusion in the Local Venue Shows program strand.

The majority of the Feast stages are housed in our local live music venues and arts spaces throughout Darebin (Northcote, Thornbury, Preston, Reservoir, Fairfield and Kingsbury). Northcote is a popular destination for local and guest musicians and music lovers because it boasts the highest number of dedicated live music venues in one short strip in Melbourne.

Venues and artists registering shows with Music Feast will benefit from the comprehensive marketing campaign that the Feast rolls out each year.

Attention Artists & Agents:
1. Find the venue that is right for your act (consider genre and the size of audience that you think you’ll attract).
2. Approach the venue directly and secure your gig line-up and date (usually at least three months prior to the Feast dates).
3. Once the venue has confirmed that they are booking your act/show, then you or the venue can register your show for inclusion in the Music Feast program via the form below by 6 August, 2014.

Please note that emails requesting that we book your act for the festival, or find a venue for you, may not be responded to.

Artists Support Program - Apply for Presentation Support

Expression of Interest Process – Open to all.

Each year our Festival Director selects a handful of ‘special’ events for inclusion in our Artists Support Program. These shows are presented within the Town Hall on High program strand.

Successful applicants will be scheduled to perform in the majestic Northcote Town Hall and will receive technical staff services, a basic PA, basic staging, basic lighting rig, seating and ticket sales management.

Bookers, agents, producers, promoters and artists wishing to put on a show at the Northcote Town Hall must register their Expression of Interest via the on-line Expression of Interest Form below.

This program is designed to support new and interesting works. Those wishing to stage a standard ‘gig’ might be better to pursue a date at one of our Local Music Venues and be included in the Local Venue Shows program strand (see below).

The Bain Marie

Curated Program – NO ‘Call for Artists’ and NO ‘Registration’ process

The Bain Marie festival hub bar was introduced in 2013 with great success. It is already a favourite for locals and visitors providing a space to meet and catch up with new festival friends.

The Bain Marie invigorates and builds festival audiences across the precinct; ensures equal access to the arts; and presents a broad selection of music, interactive workshops, community participation events, guest speakers and music related spectacle!

The festival hub bar is programmed by the Artistic Director and there is no ‘Call for Artists’ or ‘Registration’ process for this program. Requests to perform at The Bain Marie may not be responded to due to time constraints.
